Join both our Facebook group and the NEW Facebook Page!Dear Friend, Praise the Lord! Well, it’s Friday—and you know what that means. I’m sitting at my desk writing to you! :) First, let me say thanks for letting me take up a little space in your inbox. I really do enjoy writing to you. My hope is that, as we go along, I’ll get to know you better—not just your name, but a little bit about your journey, your experiences, and what God is doing in your life. And speaking of the journey, let me tell you something about mine. One of the things I love most about what I get to do is people. Plain and simple. I love working with folks like you. I love watching God work in people's lives. I love seeing a discouraged saint find a little encouragement, watching someone discover a new purpose, or seeing God's love bring fresh life to someone who may have been walking through a difficult season. That’s the stuff that makes this worthwhile. I actually got started in all of this as a young man. Over the years, the burden of the Lord has taken me down some interesting roads—and, truth be told, a few roads I never expected to travel! Yes, I’ve had the privilege of writing books, and I’m grateful for that. But when I look back over the years, the most rewarding part of my journey has always been ministry and people. And now I’d like to hear from you. What do you love most about UPCI SAGES? And if you're feeling a little extra chatty, that's perfectly fine with me! I'd really enjoy hearing how you found us in the first place. What brought you to SAGES? Everybody has a story. I’d love to hear yours. Talk soon, Carlton L. Labor Day began in the late 1800s, a time when many workers faced long hours, low pay, and unsafe working conditions. The labor movement grew as workers spoke up and organized for better wages, shorter hours, and improved working conditions. In 1894, Congress passed a law making the first Monday in September a national holiday to honor the contributions of American workers. Today, Labor Day is a time to recognize the dedication and hard work of all who build, protect, serve, and strengthen our communities and our country.
